Amanda Conway LaSaga was born in Stephenville Crossing and is the daughter of Sarah and Tim Conway. She was raised in the community of St. George’s and still lives there today.

She graduated from Memorial University in 1991 and worked in Youth Corrections for 22 years. She married Ron LaSaga and they have one son, Justin.

Amanda currently works as a Client Services Officer with Advanced Education, Skills, and Labor.
She has been an active member of the St. George’s Indian Band for over ten years, and enjoys the many cultural activities of the Mi’kmaq community.

Amanda is presently serving her second term as a Director with the St. George’s Indian Band, and her philosophy is about reaching out and helping others.

Our spiritual grounds are located in different areas: Steel Mountain, Mendueuge (Devil’s Place), Calvary Hill, Hell’s Gultch, Hungry Grove, Seal Rocks, Molly Ann’s Cove, and the Mouth of Barachois.
