Biography

Mr. Melvin White is a member of the St. George’s Indian Band and a member of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nations Band. Melvin comes from St. George’s Newfoundland and he is currently a resident there. He makes traditional Mi’kmaq Spruce Root Baskets and Birch Bark Containers. He also works with seal skin and leather to make boots, purses, moccasins and medicine bags.
